Overview
NXTLABS ("we", "our", or "us") operates wpbackup.dev and develops the Fast Backups WordPress plugin. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit this website, contact us, or use the plugin. Your WordPress site owner or administrator remains responsible for the personal data contained in the site and its backups.
How Fast Backups processes data
Fast Backups runs inside your WordPress installation and creates archives from the content you select. A full backup may include your database, media library, themes, plugins, configuration data, and other site files. Because those sources may contain personal data, each backup should be protected and retained according to your own privacy, security, and legal requirements.
The plugin does not send backup archives to NXTLABS. Backups remain on your server unless you download them or configure a destination such as an FTP/FTPS server or Google Drive.
Backup destinations and credentials
- Local storage: Archives are stored in protected storage on your WordPress server.
- FTP or FTPS: Archives and connection requests are sent directly from your server to the host you configure. Connection details are saved in your WordPress database.
- Google Drive: The plugin requests the limited Google Drive file scope needed to create and manage files produced by Fast Backups. Access and refresh tokens, account details, folder identifiers, and cached quota information are stored in your WordPress database.
Google authorization broker
Google authorization uses a callback on wpbackup.dev to complete the OAuth flow. During this short-lived process, the broker receives authorization parameters from Google and securely hands the resulting authorization data back to the originating WordPress site. It is not used to receive or store your backup archives. You can disconnect Google Drive from the plugin settings to remove the locally stored connection tokens.
Website data collection
When you use wpbackup.dev, the following information may be processed:
- Technical logs: Our hosting provider may record IP address, browser information, requested URL, timestamps, and security events to operate and protect the website.
- Analytics: Google Analytics may process page views, device and browser information, approximate location, referral information, and interactions so we can understand website usage.
- Communications: If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to provide.
How we use information
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve wpbackup.dev and Fast Backups.
- Respond to support requests, questions, and feedback.
- Complete user-initiated Google Drive authorization.
- Measure website performance and understand which content is useful.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that support website hosting, security, analytics, email, and the Google authorization flow. When you choose an external backup destination, that provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Retention and security
Website logs, analytics information, and support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above or to meet legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting WordPress administrator access, destination credentials, encryption passwords, and downloaded backup files.
Your choices and rights
You can stop analytics through browser privacy controls or supported blocking tools, avoid sending optional communications, disconnect Google Drive, delete plugin settings, and remove stored backup archives. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection concerning personal information we control.
Children's privacy
wpbackup.dev and Fast Backups are intended for website administrators and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the plugin, website, integrations, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
